SABBATH PRAYER FOR ARTISTS
Father, re-story me today.
I ‘stand at the crossroads’ and ‘ask for the ancient paths’ (Jeremiah 6:16).
Root me again in the faith of my fathers and mothers,
as I participate this day in Your Word.
Jesus, maker of tables and teller of stories,
create in me a new imagination, I pray.
Invoke in me greater celebration.
And grant to me new language with which to sow Your eternal Word into a weary world.
Creator Spirit,
You who moved over the darkness and gave the chaos form,
Inspire new songs of worship. Disrupt our religious attitudes.
Draw artists, prophets and innovators from the peripheries of our communities right to the heart.
